King Chandradhar was a devotee of Lord Shiva. Alongwith Queen Alka and six sons he was leading a happy life. The king was doing business via sea and in the remaining time he used to worship Lord Shiva and serve the troubled ones.

Lord Shiva's daughter Mansa was a Devi of Naglok. One day, like Shree Ganesh and Karatikya, she also felt an urge to go down to the earth and worshiped. Lord Shiva told her that if Chandradhar offers his 'Pooja' flowers to her she can have the right to be prayed on the earth. But King Chandradhar refused to offer flowers to Mansa Devi. She became furious at this insult and all his six sons were found dead. The Raj Bhavan became house of the dead. The king tried his best to give back life to the snake bitten six brothers. But Mansa proved all the attempts futile. Still King Chandradhar's faith in Lord Shiva could not shatter.

After sometime, by the blessings of Devi Mansa, Queen Alka gave birth to Laxmendra. And on the other side King Radha Mohan's home was blessed with a beautiful daughter Behula.

Laxmendra and Behula met each other at a lonely spot and their love started developing. The atmosphere started vibrating with melodious of young lovers. One day, under the wheel of their chariot, a cobra got killed. Devi Mansa proclaimed that on his wedding night only Laxmendra will be bitten by a snake.

For the safety on the wedding night the king built a house of iron. But Devi Mansa found her way out. With revenge writ all over her she sent she-cobra to bite Laxmendra. But looking at the tragic conditions she came back without using her venom. Devi Mansa came in the end and did her duty.

In the morning when in King, the queen and public saw the dead body of Laxmendra in the lap of Behula, a cry of terror shook the universe. A sea of sadness flooded the humanity !

But Behula was unperturbed. "I am a not widow... I will fight the Death... Whoever wants to take away my better half. I'll fight like Sati Saitri and bring back my husband alive," said Behula.

On a bamboo-raft Behula put the dead body of her husband and started on an unending voyage... to bring back her husband alive...

Behula went from place to place, visiting "har Dham".... "Yam Lok", "Braham Lok", "Vishnu Lok", and in the end the "Shiv Lok" to demand justice! Could she bring back her husband alive?
